Terms of Use
These Terms of Use describe the basis on which you may use qplusequality.org and the rules that apply to your visit. By using the site you agree to be bound by them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
About this site
qplusequality.org is operated by the Q+ Equality Foundation, a Delaware nonprofit corporation organized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We refer to ourselves below as "the Foundation," "we," or "us." The site is informational: its purpose is to introduce the Q+ Equality Initiative (QEI), share our point of view on workplace equality, and give interested visitors a way to get in touch.
The site is offered free of charge. You do not need to create an account to use it, and we do not sell goods or services through it.
Your use of our content
The text, images, graphics, logos, and brand identity on this site are owned by or licensed to the Foundation. We invest considerable effort in creating original material, and we ask that you respect that work.
You are welcome to read and share links to our pages, quote short passages in articles, posts, or presentations with credit to the Q+ Equality Foundation, and reference our work in academic or educational contexts (again with attribution).
Without our prior written permission, please do not republish substantial portions of our content on another website, in print, or in any commercial product; do not use our name, marks, or visual identity in a way that implies an endorsement, partnership, or affiliation that does not exist; and do not modify or build derivative works from our content.
If you have a use case that doesn't clearly fit one of the categories above, please email us. We are a small organization and try to be reasonable.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the site in ways that don't harm other visitors, the Foundation, or the operation of the site itself. In practical terms, that means you won't use the site to harass, threaten, or defame any individual or organization; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the site, its underlying systems, or the systems of our hosting and service providers; scrape or crawl the site at a rate that materially disrupts service for other visitors; use the site or anything obtained from it to violate any applicable law or regulation; or introduce viruses, worms, or other malicious code into the site (or attempt to do so).
We may suspend or restrict access if we believe in good faith that a visitor is engaged in any of the above.
Links to other sites
We sometimes link to third-party websites and tools — for example, our scheduling service, our jobs board, or pages we cite in support of our work. We don't control these external sites, and the fact that we link to them does not mean we endorse everything on them. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of services we don't operate.
Not professional advice
The information on this site is offered for general informational and educational purposes. It is not, and should not be relied upon as, legal, financial, employment, medical, or other professional advice. We are not your lawyers or your consultants, and reading something on this site does not create any professional relationship.
If you are facing a specific legal, employment, or personal situation, please consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We work to keep the site accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee that every page is free from errors, that the site will always be available, or that it will meet your particular needs. We provide the site on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and to the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, to reflect changes in the services we use, in our practices, or in the law. We will update the "Last updated" date when we do. Where reasonable, material changes will be highlighted on the site for a period of time. Your continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. To the extent any dispute relating to the site or these terms must be resolved in court, the parties agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware.
